Goodwood is Disneyland for petrolheads, with the world’s greatest cars and greatest drivers wallowing in three days of high-octane worship at the alter of the internal combustion engine. Everything from classic road cars to the latest F1 machinery crowd in to this glorious corner of England, safe in the knowledge that they are among friends; no global-warmists here wagging a condemnatory finger. We’ll have a full round-up of the Goodwood Festival of Speed tomorrow – with a million photos – but as Ferrari has sent us video of Marc Gene taking last year’s Ferrai F1 (F10) car up the Goodwood hillclimb we thought it deserved some space all its own.
Renault has given the Twizy electric car a mad twist by bolting on an F1-style KERS system for Megane Renaultsport 265-worrying performance available for the very brave. The Twizy Renault Sport F1 Concept sits on single seater racing wheels, has an F1-apeing front splitter, side-pods, rear wing and even a rear diffuser to make the link to the racing side of Renault’s activities. The first of a new range of cars from the Chinese Qoros brand – the Qoros GQ3 – has been revealed ahead of a debut at Geneva 2013. Three months ahead of that reveal Qoros has jumped in with a reveal of their first offering and some details about what it has on offer. Unsurprisingly, the reality is somewhat less exciting to look at than the dynamic-looking teaser image we saw last month. Planned to go on sale in both China and Europe during 2013 the Qoros GQ3 is aimed at young buyers, although why any car company would build a C-Segment saloon and expect young buyers to lap it up in Europe is beyond us.
